Off the White

Hi ladies, quick post because today is already a busy day.... I was at the nail supply store the other day and spotted this brand called iPolish, if you thought of Apple instantly; join the club. This has nothing to do with electronics tho. I'm so happy to be able to buy polishes at certain nail supply places w/o a license.

This brand does have model names for their polishes, I just happened to get one that doesn't have a sticker on it. Remembering back to the rack label I believe this is Off the White, this is an off white creme polish. The formula rate for thickness is a 6, it's actually light but thick for application and goes on smooth. First coat was sort of streaky but the next 2 layers had its back covering the streaks.

This is simplicity for me, I hardly ever wear the color so plain Jane.

Have a good weekend, I plan to :)

Polish Funnies

Here are some polish related funny & true ecards, thought I'd try my luck with making someone smile today.

Let's Polka

Hi ladies, I'd like to show you a mani I wore the other day. Forgive me for I do not remember the names of the polishes. My nail supply store just got in a large stock of Verity polishes and I went a lol crazee!!

Here I've provided a simple tutorial of how this all went down doing a dots & stripes mani. At the end my accent nail just didn't sit well with me so I gave the bow design another try. I was pleased with it as a result of my persistence.

Beyond

Hi all, here's a mani I am currently wearing, it is a Color Club Holo 2013 polish called Beyond (& that it is). I have to admit that I have not picked a favorite yet out of the bunch and don't ask me to :). This is a charcoal formula, I don't think it's should be called black. I have a Kleancolor polish like this off black color and it is called charcoal. Also in this mani you see my accent nail right, well it was sent to me by Kelly Baas who is the independent consultant for Jamberry Nails. If you've tried Salon Hansen Salon Effects and Kiss Nail wraps then you get the idea of what these are. However, these are different from the brands I've mentioned, with the use of the warmth from a blow hair dryer you will seal these nail stickers to your nails.

They sent me just a few to use as a accent nail and in the picture provided you will see that the designs are cute and will fit anyone's fancy. Many of times I thought about doing the moustache nail art, but Jamberry came along and helped me get that on my nails finally.

Be sure to check out Jamberry nails over at OohLaLaPolish and on their Facebook page.

Lady Liberty

Hi all, today I have to show you my mani using the second Bondi New York polish I purchased. Here is a look at Lady Liberty which is a Mint Green color. I really enjoyed Bondi's formula as it's easy to apply, no streaks and in just two coats you'll reach your opaque satisfaction.

I've chosen to layer Color Club's "Wish Upon A Rock Star" over it, which made the perfect glitter mani I was going for; I was in the mood for glitter.

Flamingo X Dooney & Bourke

Hi ladies, today I bring to you a mani I wore on Friday. This mani I included in my first time bringing out a Dooney & Bourke bag I had been after for a while. I've drooled over this bag every time the many of segments QVC has featured it on their D & B specials. Not only did I get this bag even though QVC and the Dooney site has sold out of this color, I also got this on sale with 30% off!! So patience is a virtue because I would have died paying those 5 payment installments that they offered. This bag I got from the Dooney Outlet in Orlando. It is called the Small Florentine Satchel, trust me it says small but it seems like a medium to me; it also has a long strap for the crossbody look.

My mani to match with this bag is called Flamingo and it is from the Fiesta collection. I don't find this pink to be unique from the other pinks that I own from Color Club, this just confirms that they're just recycling colors, adding a few more drops of pigment or leaving out a few drops. It's a neon/bubble gum pink, you're viewing 3 coats just because pink is my signature color and I like my pink colors thick. I got this Fiesta collection pack of 7 from Beall's Outlet here in Florida for $8.99.

Comic Cute Eternal Beauty

Hi ladies, I'd like to show you a mani I'm just so GIGGITY GIGGITY over... Here's a limited edition Archie's polish starring MAC Cosmetics. I dug deep in my wallet & gave them $17 for one polish. For some reason I just HAVE TO try out a pink polish when trying a new brand.

I live this color and its name is Comic Cute. The MAC store was stupid busy and it was a good thing cause I was tempted to look around, I said nope and jetted outta there. In this mani I also included another lovely holo from Color Club's '13 collection, this one is called Eternal Beauty. I just love the prism effect in sunlight have a looky see.....

Zoya PixieDust- Beatrix

*products were provided as press sample by company.

Happy Hump Day Lacquerettes, I'd like to show you the model Beatrix from the recently released Zoya PixieDust Collection. I have to say that the colors in this collection I enjoy much better than the first set. Here is the orange/gold shimmer textured polish. This is 3 coats because I wanted it to look deeply textured.

This look reminds me of crumpled foil paper. I wasn't sold by the first set but I'm pretty much playing for the entire team now.

On my accent nail I am wearing a franken I made around the Easter holiday. The formula is a peach base with pink squares, blue, green, red & pink circles with gold fine glitter. I call it Peach Surprise.

Cuccio X Khroma

Hey polish peeps!! Today I have to show you a mani i am currently rockin. This pink brand polish Cuccio is new to my collection, I've seen it tho in Nail pro Mag quite a few times. I thought it was expensive but they were $3 in my nail supply store. The formula is workable not thick but definitely not runny. I applied 2 coats.

The gold glitter is from the Kardashian line called Khrome. I spotted it in Ulta this weekend while looking for something to use my $3.50 coupon on, they're $5.99. The glitter is very runny but it spreads evenly. This is two coats with 10 minute drying time in between.

Uptown Girl Eternal Beauty

Hi ladies and Happy Friday eve... Today is my Friday so hands up for me!! Today I have a mani to share with you using a new brand that a fellow blogger refined & polished introduced to me via Facebook. This brand is Bondi (pronounced bond-ai) which is established in the Big Apple. Being a former New Yorker I was pretty stoked to give them a try. I purchased two polishes during their BOGO B2GETTWO promo last week. You can check them out at http://www.bondinewyork.com.

They have thee coolest names for their polishes such as Lady Liberty, NYPD Blue, City Slicker and etc. Today I am wearing Uptown Girl which is a purple formula which I found opacity in just two coats. The Holo I used is from Color Club's 2013 collection and it's called Eternal Beauty. I purchased the collection on eBay for $35, they're all so beautiful.

I am also trying out a new top coat I heard about in my bloggers group by Essence I have provided a pic below, it's $2.49 and the ladies rave good reviews about it so I'll try my hand with it --I mean nails :))).

Gladiola

Hi ladies, I just realized I haven't posted yet this week, I have family in from Atlanta so I've been caught up in the rapture of quality time.

Here's my current mani which is no biggie, this is 3 coats of Bettina's "Gladiola" polish from the Fiori collection. On the site this color looks peachy but it's actually a shy girly pink, I love it nonetheless.

A for Autism

Hi ladies, this is a quick post, I did this mani late in honor of my best friend Evelyn's son Ethan who has Autism. He'll be 10 and he's been a trooper with his condition. I used OPI "No time for the blues" and American Apparel's ughhh now I've forgotten the name, I'll edit it later.

I did puzzle dots... I wish they'd find the piece to puzzle for the cure of Autism.
