The proof is in the pudding

Happy Friday Lacqueritas, my post won't be too long today. I have another bottle of the Nails Inc. Special Effects polishes, I have 4 of them in my collection and I've posted 3 of them so far HERE and HERE. This one is called Pudding Lane and I just want to eat it up on some cupcakes. Like the others, this polish formula is a one man show you don't need to layer it on another polish. What u see is two coats and Seche on the top. The glitters in it are purple and gold as far as I can capture.

Hope you all have a safe and great weekend, CIAO.

Let's get lacquer wasted

Hi my polished pretties, hope you had a great weekend. Today I'll be showing you a indie polish by one of my Instagram fam, she goes by the name of FemmeFetaleLacquer. She is based out of Queens, NYC where she makes handmade polishes. I found her shop on bigcartel.com to be very affordable and unique in style. This polish I am wearing is called Party On, I like it because I've fallen in love with the white lacquer based glitter polishes. Although this may look similar to my post by Lush Lacquer, they are very different. Here you are viewing 3 coats and a top coat of Rush 60 seconds top coat. This is 1 of 2 polishes I orders last week, this is a mini bottle of 7ml which I am quite content with its size. The price of these are $4 and they are a "3FREE"based polish. Check out her store when you get a chance on www.femmefatalelacquer.bigcartel.com

Pour some sugar on me

Hi ladies, research paper submitted yesterday and I'm on to the next one....in 3 weeks that is :/. So today I have a mani I did last night using another Nails Inc Special Effects lacquer, this one is called 'Sugar House Lane'. I like this because of the salt n pepper glitters mixture with the subtle taupe lacquer. I actually started to paint my nails a taupe color so it would show up more but I found that I clearly didn't need to. This is two coats and Seche Vite on top. By the way I used a glue base coat for the peel off process :)

I'm GLUED to this

Shouts to my fellow blogger wackylaki, for this helpful tutorial on how to enjoy wearing (and taking off) your glitter polish. Not only can you enjoy wearing it, now you can look forward to an easy removal process when you're ready. You will see the simple removal process below in the first box or go to her blog. Use the nail glue (Elmer's or its cheaper relative) allow it to dry then apply your polish as usual with top coat! I used the technique last night just on one nail and it worked for me. No more using the foil paper wrap!! If you know another technique, link me in the direction please.

"Purple polka dots in mani".....

Hi ladies, I feel like I haven't posted in a long time (even tho it hasn't been a long time). I have been handling a very tedious research paper for one of my classes and so I have been trying to get that done as it is due Wed (don't u just love papers). Well here's a mani that I found time to do on Friday, it's no big deal. I used China Glaze's polish called "Peri-WINK-le", in some shades of light it looks like a blurple color and others a darker baby blue. I love CG's formula, no complaints here..... I'll also include in this post some pick ups my collection has gotten "lacquer'd up" with. Wednesday cannot come soon enough.... talk to you ladies layterrrrrr

The Butter London polishes below are from last Monday with their special B1G1F sale. In order they are : Trout Pout, Slapper, Blagger and MacBeth.
This pick up below I got from Ebay, it's theBalm "Petunia" and Lime Crime "Once in a Blue Mousse".
and I leave you with this to think of in times of stress...............

Purple Girls Rock

Hi all, this mani I am showing you comes from a mani I had on Saturday. This brand Girls Rock I picked up while I was in Chicago last month. I purchased it at CVS for $2.99, there were various colors. I mostly wanted to try it because the shape of the bottle resembled the Butter London polishes and I pondered the idea that the formula would bear a similarity. I did take advantage of the Butter London special purchase at Ulta stores yesterday (swatches to follow this week). The formula is thin but not in a too too bad way. In pursuit to see it become opaque I did have to apply 3 coats of it, but that lead it into a deeper purple than how it looks in the bottle. On a scale from 1-10 I give it an 8 because of the 3 coat application. In contrast to Butter London polish, the square top to this bottle is the brush whereas Butter London's top screws off to another small bottle cover. Lastly, the purple hearts glitter polish I used on my accent finger is by Nicole by OPI and I don't foresee myself purchasing any other product from them similar to this. The brush refused to pick up the hearts, it was a complete struggle for me to get the hearts out of the clear lacquer. I almost spilled the bottle tilting it to get some out with a toothpick. Instead of the brush picking up the hearts, it just moved them around in the bottle; you will see below how the hearts are mainly settled in the bottom of the bottle. The intent for design is cute but the execution of applying it to nails takes up too much time for my liking!

Mean Green

Hi ladies, hope you all have been anticipating the end to this giveaway as I am. If you haven't entered then you still have about 16 hours left as I write this post according to rafflecopter, so enter my Giveaway. The mani I present to you today is a polish by theBalm- Hot Ticket, this model is called "counterfeit". This is my first polish by them and I enjoyed the formula. What you're seeing is two coats of opaqueness and one coat of Sech Vite. The formula is smooth, void of clumps or sticky ickyness and its drying appearance before top coat application has some shine to it. I am not really the one for dark shades but every now and then I can pull off one the darker shades. Lastly to my satisfaction, while applying the formula the color doesn't change to a darker shade it stayed exactly like you see it in the bottle. I got this polish on ebay for 4.99 free shipping. You can view more of their colors and shop HERE if you oppose the ebay deals. I used some no name gold glitter polish for the overlay on my middle, thumb and pinky to complete this mani.... it's theBomb to me :)

Although my polish is called "Counterfeit", I'd like you to enjoy the sounds of Puff Daddy and others telling you whatlife is really about....

What is that Velvet?

My current mani is by Jessica, a brand I picked up in a pack of 4 for $9 in TJMaxx. I have seen this brand everytime I went in there but thought it was a cheapy brand LOL. I saw a collection of it on of my fellow bloggers page and said "oh yeah i've seen that brand". Well I've slept on Jessica, my bad! This model is called "Velvet Rose", I liked it because it was the shade pink that I am quite fond of and as I turned the bottle I saw a shimmer of silver in the formula; so that won me over. This formula is light in texture but it's not runny at all and in just two coats and a top coat you're good to go. It dries easy and no smudging what so ever occurs (well for me at least). The silver polish on my accent finger is Dazzled by Orly. Don't forget to enter my giveaway which ends next Wed. (9/12) HERE.

Made in LA

With the ongoing giveaway, i've forgotten to post my mani's. Here i'm wearing the limited edition color by American Apparel X Hammer Museum "Teal", it has much shimmer to it and in certain light views/angles you can see a shade of purple. This formula was a very easily apply and the opacity lives in just 2 coats, I used the 60 speed dry top coat on this instead of Seche Vite just to try a different top coat. It does fast. You can find this polish on the site AA and in stores (there are 3 colors). Don't forget to enter my giveaway

Sunrise, Sunset

What's up my polish pretties, hope you're enjoying your long weekend. I logged on to share with you this polish I've been meaning to, what better day than today since I'm off and have time. This polish is by Claire's, in passing during my trip to the mall they had a rotating shelf of polishes outside the store and it caught my eye. These are not mood polishes, they're sun changing polishes. It's very simple, it's one color indoors and another outdoors--neat right. There's about 5 shades, at the time I got them they were buy 2 get 1 free. The colors I've purchased are as shown in order "Day Dreamer", "Solar Eclipse" and "Sun Sation". They retail $7 a bottle.
