Color Club Matte Rouge

*Taps mic*...is this thing on?

Ok good lol Good morning beauties, I know I haven't posted in a good minute over here. I have to be honest with y'all, I've been over at my other blog at Wordpress posting like a man woman. I've found that I get so much more love and interaction with my readers over there more than here. I've had this blog on blogspot longer than the WP blog. Nonetheless, I won't give up on this blog-- it's still my baby.

So let's get right into the meat and potatoes of this post. These 4 polishes are from the newly released collection by Color Club called Matte Rouge. I had such high hopes for this collection, but I will shortly disappointed about the performance of the formula as I applied these. To give it to you straight, the formula is very difficult to work with, it is very thick and applies in blobs. Even when I try to apply a thin layer it still was thick as it was laying on my nails.

When you did the first layer it dries to like a textured appearance which gives you like a wet dry sand look, by the looks of that you know that you're going to need a second and third layer. This picture is of my nails with two layers.

The only color that I didn't have that much difficulty with is the orange one. It wasn't AS thick, this one is called Perfect Pout.

This next one is the reason why I wanted these polishes, I loved how deep & grape purple the color is, but it is the thickest of the bunch--very difficult to apply. You can even see it on my nails that the layers are thick. This is Plum-P & Juicy.

This pink was okay to apply, still thick but it was more manageable. This is Spin The Bottle (I wanted to more than spin this bottle lol)!!

Lastly this pink (which looks almost red in my pics) was a mother effer to apply! Just like the purple it is super thick and no matter how I tried to apply just a thin coat it still came out thick & blobby. This is Mother Pucker (how ironic lol)!

It's very unfortunate because I'm a huge fan of matte polishes (as I am of matte lipsticks as well). They retail for $8 of the Color Club website. However, this is just my experience with them, maybe I just got a bad batch; who knows. All I know is I'm over that whole swatch session lol.

Thanks for reading!!

The Beauty Buffs Gold Vs Silver Theme

Hey everyone! Happy Beauty Buffs Day lol

Today we celebrate all that is themed gold and silver. You know growing up I only wore silver jewelry I don't know why I just like silver better. It wasn't until years after high school that I started buying gold pieces. This silver holo that I am wearing is from Color Club's holo collection and it's called "Harp on it". The gold textured polish partially on my ring finger is an OPI Polish called Honey Ryder.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative- Stripes look 1

Hey everyone, are you all winding down your Sunday in preparation for Monday-- I know I am! I had a great weekend even though it's not much to brag about, it's a good feeling to be around fun loving people at all times!

So here we are at TNCC a new month and a new theme STRIPES!! I've always loved striped nail designs myself so this will be a fun month for posting.

For my striped design I used two Color Club polishes I picked up from a new nail supply place I found in Orlando, it's called ABC Nail Supply and it's fairly new.

The first polish is a peachy color called East Austin and the florescent orange polish is called Psychedelic Scene.

Dupes, My Bad- Neon Orange

Hi ladies, surprised to see me on a Sunday huh....me too!! I was sitting looking at my stash and started thinking about my next dupe post. I realized I have at least 4 dupes of neon orange polishes so I chose that color to swatch.

The first neon polish I have which I am wearing on my pinky is by Fingr's and it's called "RE-Orange My Closet", on my ring finger is Color Club's "Wham! Pow!", middle finger is showing you China Glaze "Japanese Koi" and index finger shows you Cynthia Rowley "Neon Orange". They are similar in color but not in formula. The Fingr's, Color Club and China Glaze are consistent in smooth application, while the Cynthia Rowley is very, very streaky even with 3 coats.

I do see that the Fingr's polish is slightly darker from the rest of the colors. All were applied with 3 coats without a top coat.

"DUPES, my bad"-Yellow

Good morning ladies, how are you on this rainy, dark Monday (or at least it is in Florida).

On my blog today is a new segment I'm starting called "DUPES, my bad". I've seen several bloggers do a comparison post (The PolishAholic & Peachy Polish just to name two) & I find it to be a great idea. For one it's good to know so that you can't avoid dupes and for 2, you can buy this brand as a dupe if you aren't able to get the original brand you wanted.

My choice for the comparison is yellow. Yellow looks good on me and I find myself pretending not to have the perfect yellow. I've chosen 5 yellows which do vary in color and application.
OPI- Need Sunglasses is a canary yellow which you will find opaque in 3 coats.

American Apparel- Sunshine State is also a canary yellow, it streaks on tr first coat but is opaque in 3 coats.

Sinful Colors- Chick Chick is more of a mustard yellow.

Color Club- Almost Famous is a bright neon yellow in person. If layered on top of white it really pops.

*all polishes were applied with 3 coats and no top coat was used.

Swatchful Sunday 2/9/14- OPI, Color Club and Sally Hansen

Good evening everyone, I know this is a late in the day post but late to me is 12:01 lol. So I have these swatches to show you of just some random polishes I picked out of my stash. Now, this is why I sometimes don't like buying Color Club polishes from stores like TJMaxx, Bealls and etc. because they don't always give me the correct polish name for the collection. The box that these polishes came in is called "Untamed", but when I looked it up it didn't look like the set online called the same. The other two polish were a flakie silver glitter and a clear top coat; I gave them away. I was exhausted and didn't feel like doing more research but they are beautiful colors nonetheless, have a look.

The next set of swatches is from OPI's recent release called "Brazil" Here are 2 coats without a top coat. These two are very similar to each other as well as to "Where Did Suzi's Man-Go".

This is Live Love Carnaval

This one is called Toucan Do It If You Try

Lastly, here's a textured polish Sugar Coat by Sally Hansen that I spotted in a stash at Big Lots, I paid a whopping $1 for it LOL.

Here is 2 coats of Bubble Plum.

Miss Bliss, Bless Your Heart

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY *Does the cabbage patch*

So my mani today is brought to you by a Color Club Holo called "Miss Bliss" and a Polish & Co. polish called "Bless your heart". I am not gonna lie to you, if I could pick a polish to wear 24,7 I would surely rock this Color Club holo. I've worn this polish before and have gotten so many compliments, people are just at awe at its sunlight/light reflections; the prisms in it seems to mesmerize people.

The Polish & Co. polish is a soft pink polish which you will find opaque in just two coats, it dries to an awesome shine so a top coat is optional.
