Rue 21 Pink Ice polish

I haven't been in Rue 21 in a spell, so yesterday's trip was called upon me by seeing a swatch of a indie looking polish of theirs. I can't recall the blog but it looked like a dupe polish I got from Icing.

I didn't want that polish I saw on the blog but I thought they may have different colors. Much to my surprise Rue Beauty changed up their polish style and formula (so I was told). I spotted a few indie formula looking polishes as well. There were lots of eye catching summer colors it was hard not to duplicate polishes from my stash-- u know how u get in the store and totally forget what colors you already have lol. The price is 2 for $5 & sorry no cool names.

So for my purchase I picked up this pink/royal blue glitter formula polish, on sight I thought it was so pretty; and it is on nails as you will witness in a few. This is a fuschia base color with royal blue circles and fine glitters. I did 3 coats, I did two at first and got bored and did another layer.

For my accent nail I dotted away in the same color way as the polish, but I applied a matte finish using NYC's Matte me Crazy....

Enjoy and have a great Tuesday.

Balloons for a mermaid

Hey ladies, sitting here getting my talons ready for another work week. So I felt myself getting bored so I decided to get creative. So this is what I came up with, this color was very trying in order to come up with a specific color. I had to mix light green eyeshadow, this bahama blue acrylic paint (very little) & some white base lacquer to come up with this. Never will I try this again too much shaking and mixing.

I already had this glitter which I bought from misfitson8th on etsy.com. This has pink squares, pink fine glitter, red & blue octagon shapes in it. I love this combo together.

Here's 3 coats of "Balloons for a Mermaid".

Sunshine- Zoya Fall 2013 Pixie Dust

Hi ladies, check out this swatch of one of the models of Zoya's Fall Pixie Dust collection. I closed my eyes and picked out and wa la, one I loved at first sight. This finished effect reminds me of a denim look and I love it.

On my accent nail I chose to do a little drizzle art, it's pretty easy and fun to do.

This is Sunshine... Have a sunshiny day!!

It's written in orange, black & white

Hi all and happy hump day. I'd like to share with you my current mani. It's using this China Glaze neon orange polish called Orange Knockout. I was immediately attracted to this polish when I saw it in either Ulta or Sally's I forget which one. It's so bright and attracts so much attention, it has become basically an accustom to wear this color for during the summer; then with the black & white glitter layer over it really makes it stand out. I'd like to think I'd wear this forever but really, who am I trying to kid!!

The glitter I used is Hard Candy's "Black Tie Optional".

Noho way..... Really I mean it!

Hi all and good morning. Today I'm wearing this Leather Effect polish by nails inc. I wasn't too antsy to get it when it first released cause of the textured look, but Zoya stole my heart. I purchased this about 2 weeks ago in JCPenney Sephora on sale for $6. This one is called Noho and i'll tell you that wearing this w/o a top coat is a No ho ho!!

The coat (2) by itself is very matte and unattractive to the finished look.... I NEEDED to apply a very thin coat of top coat and I was safe with the way it came out, people at work actually liked it and thought it looked more like leather with the top coat. However the bottle states not to use a top coat but I paid for it i'll do as I please :))).

Looking at it up against my favorite Tory Burch handbag it looks wonderfully leather to me!!

Petit by Cherimoya

This has to be the first in a long time that I've ever swatched a polish haul within hours of purchase. Browsing my safe haven Ross I came across this polish set which the brand is unknown to me. While I've purchased some polishes by Cherimoya, I have none by the name of Petit.

On the box it states that this a limited edition set. I like the box presentation, it is cute with the polish set-colored macaroons on it.
Here are the polish names as I have collaged them in a frame.

L to R: Blueberry, Earl Grey, Milk, Coconut, Rose and Cassis.

The first 5 are creme formula which are very user friendly, they don't streak with the first coat which means a lot to me. I've applied 3 coats of each & didn't apply a top coat. The last one is a jelly formula and its quality is also consistent and not streaky. I thought the blue would stain my nails but it didn't at all.

As I have, you can find these in your local Ross for $4.99.

Choco Chip

Ok so hopefully you all were able to view my post from yesterday featuring the ILLAMASQUA "speckled" polishes. Well today I have something just like it from another brand. Meet Choco Chip from Icing, I had much time on my hands so I walked the mall. Just so you know this store had almost identical colors to the ILLAMASQUA polishes except for the tan, however I saw the tan online. These are going for $4.50 with the promo of BOGO half off, I just picked up the black & white speckled look because I am a huge fan of that formula. Below are pics of my current mani, I felt like the black & white polish needed a pop of color so I chose hot pink by Como Arts polish; these you can find in Ross for 1.99 for sure.

Now while the Icing calls this Choco Chip I object to that name, I think it should have been named Cookies N Creme; that name fits the formula more adequately.

ILLAMASQUA Speckles swatches...

Hey call me late, but that's better than never right! I got these polishes on Friday from the Sephora in JCPenney. I wanted these polishes back when they came out, but I just couldn't justify paying that price of $14 bills, so guess what; patience is definitely a virtue. I scored 4 of these bad bishes for $8 a bottle plus $6 for the Nails Inc. Leather Effect in black. So let me get to the meat & potatoes of my post... the swatches...... Here are 3 of the 4 polishes from ILLAMASQUA that I purchased, the other I will swatch another day.
