Push the limit

Hey beauties.... I am sorry I have been MIA lately, I have a few things that I have been trying to handle and get under control. But I managed to do my nails last night, the base color is by Orly from their Adrenaline Rush collection and it's called "Push The Limit". The glitter polish is one I got from Rue 21 over the weekend!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative #1- Skittles

Hey everyone!! Happy Friday, today I'm excited to share a post with you as a new member of a FB group called THE NAIL CHALLENGE COLLABORATIVE group. A few months back I saw a post by The Polish Playground about this group and inquired about how to join it. When I got an email from A Girl and Her Polish I totally forgot I inquired about it. So anyhoo, meet the newest member of TNNC.

THIS GROUP IS A GROUP OF BLOGHERS who do a post roundup 4 times a month with a scheduled topic, for some reason I like this kind of thing. This month's theme is Skittles, I find that I don't do many of these designs. For this design I chose two of the same type of glitter formula but in different colors. I got both of these glitter polishes from Rue 21.

The polish on my index and middle finger is called Mint Chocolate Chip and the ring & pinky fingers are wearing a polish called Sweet Frosting.

Matted Sprinkles

Good morning all and how was your Monday? My Monday wasn't bad at all, I can say I had a productive day.

On my nails today consists of 2 untried polishes (I am on the road to success with my untried stash). The coral colored polish which is on my index and middle finger is called "Instyle Coral", it is from Rimmel's "Festival Colour" 2014 collection sold at Walgreens for $1.69. This is really pretty in person and is opaque in 3 coats for me. I love to wear this color in the spring and summer, as matter of fact I like to break fashion rules; I wear any color for any season. This is 3 coats w/o a top coat.

The glitter polish on my other two fingers is a polish I got from Rue 21-- I swear every time I go there, some polishes manage to catch my eye and I have to have it. This line is called Candy Confetti and guess what.... it doesn't have a cool name (womp womp). I know many of you have seen this glitter mix made by many other brands, but I happen to like this mix; it's fun to me. For this polish I've applied 3 coats, the formula is average and friendly, it doesn't streak. 

Lastly, I've chosen to mattify this mani using OPI's Matte top coat. I was curious to see if I would like it and that I did. 
Which style do you prefer? Glossy or Matte for this look?

On What Grounds?

Hi everyone and welcome to Monday lol. I had a wonderful weekend, I spent the whole weekend with my son, brother, niece and nephew. My nephew Avin turned 2 last week and we took him to hang out in Orlando. We had a good time. 

So on my nails today I'm wearing the third of the 4 set collection from Nopi's Roughles collection. This polish I'm wearing today is called "On What Grounds"? For me this polish gives on a mint or a baby blue appearance (depending on the swatches), on some blog posts they can look either color. 

On my accent nail I'm wearing a polish by Rue 21 called Sugar Rush, I guess they got the memo about it not being cool to not have cool names for their polishes lol. The thing is, I didn't get a rush from applying this polish; it's very sheer and streaky. The polish brush is very narrow and doesn't pick up much glitter. The formula is thick and requires 3 coats.

Ruby Wing Zen Garden

Hi ladies, I'm so sorry that I have just posted only once this week. I have out-of-town guests and I've just been busy recuperating from Christmas. So I hope Santa (the Polish Santa that is), was good to you all. 

Today I am wearing a polish from Ruby Wing called "Zen Garden". It's a color changing polish and unfortunately it's been rainy here and I won't be able to show you the color it changes to. It's suppose to go from this light purple to a brown color. 

On my two accent nails is a polish I got from Rue 21. No cool names I guess they're too cool for em lol. The formula is a purple lacquer mixed with blue circle and tinsel glitters. I've applied 3 coats. I've picked up a few more and if you haven't been to the store, go to their site and find a location near you they have really great deals www.rue21.com. 

Rue 21 Pink Ice polish

I haven't been in Rue 21 in a spell, so yesterday's trip was called upon me by seeing a swatch of a indie looking polish of theirs. I can't recall the blog but it looked like a dupe polish I got from Icing. 

I didn't want that polish I saw on the blog but I thought they may have different colors. Much to my surprise Rue Beauty changed up their polish style and formula (so I was told). I spotted a few indie formula looking polishes as well. There were lots of eye catching summer colors it was hard not to duplicate polishes from my stash-- u know how u get in the store and totally forget what colors you already have lol. The price is 2 for $5 & sorry no cool names.

So for my purchase I picked up this pink/royal blue glitter formula polish, on sight I thought it was so pretty; and it is on nails as you will witness in a few. This is a fuschia base color with royal blue circles and fine glitters. I did 3 coats, I did two at first and got bored and did another layer. 

For my accent nail I dotted away in the same color way as the polish, but I applied a matte finish using NYC's Matte me Crazy....
