This little piggy had polish...

On this "Two'sday", I chose 2 polishes from a brand I got from Ulta on their day of Buy 2 Get one free sale. The shimmery light green polish is called Mermaid & its partner today is called Finger Fireworks. The formula for Mermaid is excellent in texture, just right not watery (as I assumed it might be looking at it through the bottle). However, the glitter is a hot ass mess, very difficult application and gooey! It was everywhere!! It's nice once u get it to lay like u want it to, but good luck with the clean up on aisle 1! Lol.

Take the Stage

I came home a little bummed because my pinky nail and accent nail started chipping. I don't know what I am doing wrong because my polish isn't lasting long. This has happened before. It hasn't even been 24 hours. I am using a base top and a good top coat so I don't know, if you have any suggestions please lemme know. I picked up this Fergie Wet N Wild polish yesterday, I actually am not feeling all the colors because I don't think they stand out that much except for the black/gold glitter one and the one I picked up. This model is called Take the stage. This is a glitter polish that reflects a pink or purple appearance with sprinkles of silver glitter. I used Sally Hansen silver "Celeb City" polish first and then covered it with the polish, it is suffice for me at the moment....

Fruitful

Sorry for this post being a day late, this was to be my Try It On Tuesday post but I got distracted. My first time using this NCLA polish I picked up last week when they had a promo going on, the site shopncla.com; I picked up 2 colors. This one is "Poolside Party! All eyes on me". This one is more of a peachy color, the formula is very friendly and dries glossy IMO. "Dupe-Alert", if you have China Glaze "Peachy Keen" it very much resembles it. This is two coats with Seche Vite on top. My accent nail bares a little orange graphic, I hope you recognize it. I'm happy it came out okay, orange you lol.
P.S. I've added a page called "Lacquer Loves" to my side bar, which consists of polishes in my stash; maybe we can do a polish swap some day.

Zoya DAUL-ling

This is a swatch from one of the polishes I received from Zoya this week. This formula is shimmery with the mixture of colors purple and gold. Depending on how you look at it in the light, you will find your favorite view. This model is from the Diva Metallic collection and it's called DAUL.

Part of a Zoya nation

Who woulda thunk it huh, i sent a email to Zoya about doing reviews for their polishes & how much of a polish fanatic i am along with my blog posts and boom they sent me a email saying they are adding me to their art of beauty group. No I'm not getting paid in monetary form, but I'm getting paid in the liquid form of lacquer. I received today 15 polishes plus a little swatch pallet of the polishes from their Designer & Diva collection. I also got a code for a free polish with any Zoya.com purchase. I'm stoked about getting this package, totally unexpected this thinking it'll be 2 or 3 bottles. Anyhoo let me get busy, stay tuned for the swatches coming this week, woop!!

Bananas and a Grape

Hey peeps, I'm gonna get in on this "Try it on Tuesday" posts that AdventuresinPolishLand (shoutout to her :) ) mentions in her Tuesdays posts!! I posted one of polishes in a previous pick up post which is the Boho Yellow Banana Republic lacquer. The purple polish is Nicole by OPI called Prized Possession Purple for my accent nail. Tuesday's are for polishes you haven't used yet so I'm gonna love Tuesdays from now on!! Hope you like my two for Tuesday today.

The BR polish is a little thick in formula but it dries nice and glossy. I do have one thin layer top coat of Seche Nicole by OPI is a nice formula however the brush is a little small & narrow.

Just Blaze

Random pick of the stash I chose Blue Blaze by Nina Ultra Pro, I believe they sell this brand in Sally Beauty supply. This is two coats and Seche Vite top coat. I don't know, I feel like a third coat was needed; the formula was a little thin.

#gettinlacqueredup 7.12.12

I had a long day yesterday, totally forgot to check my mailbox; I knew I should be expecting 2 bottles of polish. I've seen these polishes in a few beauty salon/supply stores and said i'd try it one day... With my last let down on neon polish I am glad I had already ordered a different neon color, i'm hoping that Miss Sation got me on the next lay. I got these for a $1 total thanks to my ebay bucks (if you're not on the team you're missing out for real--sign up ebay). They were $5 with free shipping for both and they have a wide selection of gorgeous colors. The seller I bought from is cbnailstore428 and they ship fast, i ordered it Monday and got it yesterday; so you know they're getting 5 stars from me on that tip!! The neon green is called "Loudest Color" and the green glitter polish is called "Class Clown". Can't wait to try these out, swatches coming soon....

Going Green

Well peeps here's the swatch for the neon green I showed u all in my #gettinlacqueredup post! So you know I gots to keep it 1Hunnit with you all, so I'm just gonna say it EH not feeling it... NEXT... The formula is wack to the hundredth power!! It dries dull and what you're seeing is FOUR coats plus a top coat! You can see the brush strokes that stays imprinted after each coat!!

In person the bottle color is neon but when you apply it, it's more like a leaf green the least!! I wouldn't lie to ya!!
So yeah I'm giving myself the green light... Im on to the next one....

Got Glitter

Classic example of seeing a polish so pretty it mesmerizes you into thinking you need two bottles of it. I promise you that I didn't realize I had two bottles of these, cause they actually look different. Here are a set of polishes by two different brands that share a similar formula... The one in the smaller bottle is made by Petites and its product name is "Pink Diamonds", the other is by Ulta store brand called "Tink-Her-Bell". Same pink shimmery glittery formula. Do you all believe me that I didn't know (LOL)... Who hasn't done this in the store "ooooh I like this color, I need it" as the memory that you already have it slips out of your ear :).... At the end of the day I have enough glitter to make Tinkerbell's wand jealous!!

In a family of Oranges

You ever ponder on the idea of how many polishes there are out there that look alike but not quite the same? I wanted to do a post on how a few of my orange polishes are similar but different. They all may look the same in the bottle but when you apply it to the nail it changes in appearance, have a look see!!

The colors shown in order are:
1. LA Girl Disco brites "Dance Craze
2. NYC Long Wearing "Times Square Tangerine Creme
3. Petites "Mango"
4. American Apparel "Sunset Blvd"
5. Julep "Sasha"

Take a look in your collection, you might find exactly what I'm talking about.

#GettinLacqueredUp 7.9.12

I meant to do one of my pick ups during the week, but better late than not!! The week b 4 last I tweeted about American Apparel (americanapparel.net) having a sale on their 3 and 7 pack polishes, I treated myself to one of them which you shall peep below. The price was $15 for 3 bottles, only thing is the colors are already in a set for purchase; you couldn’t mix n match your color :( however, they do have nice colors in the pre-picked sets. So the set I chose in order is Mount Royal/ Berries/Poppy. I have 2 other AA bottles and I love their formula. With $5 shipping it came up to $20 so that’s not bad for 3 bottles. They gave me a 15% off code after, so if you want it, hit me up!! The sale is still running btw!

My next pic is of bottles I picked up this weekend while at the Prime Outlets on Vineland in Orlando. For starters I didn’t know Banana Republic made nail polishes!! Their stash was pretty uniform (pink, yellow, grey, orange, green, navy). Mentally I did a quick scan of my polish stash at home and decided I didn’t have enough different shades of yellow (THINGS NAIL POLISH ADDICTS SAY) so I decided on the yellow and a tangerine orange. Can’t wait to try out their formula. I paid $8 total for the BR bottles. They also gave me a 15% off code for my next purchase, if anyone would like it please hit me up for it. The other two bottles are from Charlotte Russe outlet, they’re called LA Girl Metal “Chronium Green” and LA Girl Color Addict ”Emotion”. Lastly, the electric green polish is by Bebe.

Stayed tuned for swatches this week :)

Tulip Tips

I'm just loving my iPhone 4S it's so neat!! Browsing the social apps category and I stumble upon a DIY cute nail art app that contains pics, videos and tips for nails. I watched a Tulip video which was so easy to do and I decided to mimic it with a splash of my own colors. Came out good for my first try I'd say. Below I'll show u a screen shot of the app in case u want to view it also.

Hologrrific

With so much ponder on what I'm going to do with my nails for the 4th, I decided no nail art, no accent nail no nothing but straight paint job. This brand I saw in the beauty supply store on display which had eye catching colors, I picked up two bottles of colors (swatch coming soon). This model is called "Hologram Maze". In person it looks more like a glossy purple but the pics show it up as a member of the red family. It looks like a very elegant color. This is two coats and I top coat by Color Club.

Julep Maven July Box

I received my Julep box for July yesterday and this is a good box, well because u got a extra free polish (who wouldn't like something free). With the festivities of the fourth of July approaching this week, I think some 4ofJ themed nails are in order. This box includes 4 polishes and some fire ball candy on the side.
The colors enclosed are (in order): Mila, Kate, Daphne and the free one is America-the red glitter!! Look out for the swatches coming virtually near you…
